Testimonials
“Kya has been a massive support throughout my whole pregnancy and during my current post natal status.
There were many questions about pregnancy symptoms, appointments, tests and supportive reading that Kya was able to assist me with. She was very hands on with all her support and was always just a phone call away. Kya on numerous times would go out of her way to help me and really gave me the love and guidance I was seeking.
Kya was also very proactive in helping me to decide on the place and nature of my birth. She again went out of her way to research all the various birthing options in the area and made numerous calls to find the perfect birthing place for my needs and desires.
After the birth of our beautiful little girl, Ariana, Kya remains a major part of our lives. Again helping me with any problems I have had along the way. In particular breast feeding, nipple care, sleeping and making sure we have plenty of home cooked meals.
Kya has been and continues to be a wonderful, nurturing, loving friend and supportive person. She has made our pregnancy, birth and aftercare experience extremely more informative and has given us the confidence to make our own decisions along the way. I would not hesitate to recommend her services to any pregnant women or new parents out there. In fact they would be extremely lucky to have such a beautiful human caring for their needs.
Regards, Melinda Hermon”
“I have known and been one of Kya’s closest friends for well over a decade. I was also was honoured to have her and her partner Adrian ask me to be their Doula for the birth of Felicity in 2012. Kya is an extremely intelligent, motivated, intuitive, resilient, caring and supportive woman. I know she is strong minded and is dedicated to providing ante and post natal education and information to assist women in this very special time in their lives. She would be a superlative Doula and I can’t recommend her more highly, Kelli Hogan”
“Kya is one of the most kind, compassionate and caring people I know. Not only does she have a broad knowledge of all aspects of pregnancy and post natal care, she genuinely cares when discussing such matters. One of her greatest traits is that she is an excellent listener. This was very important to me as a mum of a new baby, as having someone to talk to about the experience was extremely important to me. I really looked forward to our catch ups and coffee dates so that I could bounce ideas around with her and know that she wouldn't pass judgement. As a mum who had 2 early babies, both born via emergency Caesarian section, and was unable to breastfeed, Kya allowed to me talk to her about these matters, almost like a debrief. I found these were cathartic chats!
I am extremely honoured to call Kya a close friend of mine, and know that any mother to be will benefit greatly from allowing Kya into their life. Robyn Cross”
"Kya is one of the most genuine and kind hearted people I have ever met. Given the resources, she will single handedly change the way we think and perceive birth ( as she has mine!)
Her positive attitude is so infectious, her empathy and understanding Is so genuine, yet you know she will always stand up for what she believes, this I think will make Kya an incredible Doula, knowing that there is someone as committed as Kya guiding you through your journey and also being your voice should you need it, if only all women were so lucky to have someone confirming the details of what they planned and hoped for (birth plans ect) whilst they focus on birthing their baby. When you talk to Kya about birth, you only need to see the sparkle in her eye to truly understand her passion and commitment in helping all women achieve a positive birthing experience.
Despite the pressures if being a new mother herself, a wife, running a business, renovating a house and founding & running the amazing Facebook page "Positive Pregnancy Place", Kya still manages to find time to organise things such as weekly food rosters for new mothers with FIFO partners, in a bid to help lighten the load. Kya's wealth of knowledge and passion for researching all aspects of birth and pregnancy will make her an incredible resource for and expectant mother to have.
I feel very honoured to have Kya in my life, as she is an incredible friend. I can't wait to have Kya by my side one day ( if I should be so lucky) to guide me through my own pregnancy journey.
Kind regards,
Jess McCamish"
”It is with no hesitation that I can highly recommend Kya Phelan.
I first met Kya back in 2012 when she came to me to organise her wedding flowers. I have been in the floristry industry for 30 years and have worked in several countries. From my initial meeting with Kya I found her to be a very warm and calm person and immediately bonded with her.
Our friendship continued well after the wedding with regular coffee catch ups and news of her pregnancy with Felicity filled me with great happiness. She has become a fantastic Mother and wonderful person who is a great asset to our local community.
I recently advised a staff member of mine to have a meeting with Kya who I know really helped when Kellie a new Mum was having a few difficulties and anxious times with all that comes with becoming a new Mum. When I next met Kellie she coping much better and after some sound advice from Kya her baby was feeding beautifully.
I adore Kya and wish her well in her chosen pathway as a Doula.
Yours Sincerely
Mrs Tracey Finney”
